METHODOLOGYTHE COMMUNITY
PRESENTING HISTORY IN A CREATIVE WAY

Our objectives

The general objective of HOPE is to develop the capacity of youth workers and educators to present history in a creative and exciting way in order to teach young people lessons for the future with a focus on peaceful times that were and can be.

We need it today more than ever, not only learning about conquering, victories and wars presenting the culture of conflict and atrocities as the only possible narrative but learning lessons about possible different realities that we have lived as humans a long time ago, including the concept of Hero, what is heroism really?

It is of great importance to educate young generations on the culture of peace to be able to plant a seed for a peaceful future. To empower them, give them knowledge, tools, and hope that reality can be changed and changed for better.

We want to examine how that was possible, why those people didn’t have any big conflicts, what was their wisdom that we forgot, and how we can use this knowledge today. We can learn good and positive examples from history, not only mistakes.

In order to achieve this objective, HOPE is going to use as main tool, theatre methods and techniques. Theatre, as a method, has the capacity to create empathy and make the participants to feel a situation and think more in-depth about it.

HOPE aims to raise the capacity of organisations working with young people outside formal learning and it also promotes non-formal learning activities in third countries not associated to the Programme, especially targeting young people with fewer opportunities, with a view to improving the level of competences while ensuring the active participation of young people in society.
